The Franciscans:
It’s great to be a Franciscan in Ennis! Besides the close relationship we have with the local parish, we are also very lucky in having all three branches of the Franciscan Family here in the town. The Friary and the Poor Clare Monastery are home to two communities of Franciscans, traditionally called the first and second order. The third order is the community of Secular Franciscans who are men and women who live in the spirit of St. Francis of Assisi in ordinary family life and work in Ennis.
Ennis Friary is also a place for the training of our young friars – few in number, but contributing to a fresh spirit and a challenge to the more settled among the friars!
