Mary & Tony Heffernan are the founders of the national children's charity, The Saoirse Foundation, who operate the BUMBLEance Children's ambulance service, Bee For Battens and are currently developing Liam's Lodge, a children's respite and palliative care centre for Munster and the Mid West. Above all, Mary and Tony are the parents of Saoirse & Liam. Saoirse was diagnosed with the fatal batten disease in 2009 and Liam was diagnosed in 2010. Saoirse grew her Angel wings on Jan 18th 2011 and Liam grew his on May 4th 2014. Both died at age 5 years.
