Alzheimer Society-Clare Branch
A day care centre operates three times weekly in Respond House, Drumbiggle (off the Market). Open from 9.30 am to 4.00 pm, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday. Contact : Mary at 6823514 during opening times.
Monthly support meetings are held for carers, relatives and friends at the Alzheimer Office, Unit 17, Clonroad Business Park, Clonroad, Ennis, on the second Thursday of each month at 8.00pm.
Support meetings also held in Kilrush and Ennistymon, contact 6823514 for details.
Home care support can be obtained from this office for carers in need of a break. Telephone: Brigid or Pauline at 6845835 or 6868621. Drop in service for information available at office, Unit 17, Clonroad Business Park.
Aware
Aware is an organisation formed in 1985 by a group of interested patients, relatives and mental health professionals. Meetings are held all over the country to give help and encouragement to people suffering from depression and to their relatives.

Bereavement
Bereaved Parents Association is an organisation for bereaved parents, grandparents, brothers, and sisters. Meetings by arrangement or any Tuesday in Cathedral House at 8pm, or Friary Parlous any day.

Living Links: Support for families bereaved by Suicide. In Clare, there is a group of people who have undergone some training, to offer confidential, practical support & advice to families, who have experienced death by suicide. The suicide outreach support person, at the request of the family, can call to the home or meet at a location, appointed by the family. Please feel free to contact Clare “Living Links” Support Co-ordinator at 086 056 5373 between 5pm & 7pm Monday to Friday.

Cloughleigh Community Centre is based at Davitt Terrace, Cloughleigh. The centre is community based and is administered by Cloughleigh Residents & Development group.

The national network of Citizens Information Centres is there for the benefit of the community and backed by Comhairle. The Centres have access to up-to-date information on all matters of public concern, i.e. Health, Social Welfare, Taxation, Housing, Consumer Affairs and other matters including information on local organisations and services your entitlements, the best options that are open to you, receive help filling out a form, following up your enquiry or with an appeal if necessary.
This service is delivered by qualified information officers who receive training and back-up from Comhairle.

Grow
Grow consists of a network of mutual help groups, which meet weekly. In these meetings, people learn to understand the factors which promote mental health and what steps they can take themselves, along with friendly help and support, to overcome problems such as phobias, anxiety, depression, panic attacks and loneliness.

Move
MOVE, Men Overcoming Violence, works in the area of domestic violence, with a primary aim of supporting the safety and wellbeing of women and their children who are experiencing, or have experienced violence/abuse in an intimate relationship.
MOVE does this by facilitating men in a weekly group process that involves them taking responsibility for their violence and changing their attitude and behaviour.

- NCBI is a not for profit charitable organisation which offers support and services nationwide to people experiencing difficulties with their eyesight.
- About 18 per cent of people using NCBI’s services are completely blind, while 82 per cent have varying degrees of usable vision.
- Established in 1931 to promote the full independence of people who are blind or vision impaired, NCBI now provides a range of services to over 14,000 people.
- NCBI also provides a range of services to public and private organisations so that their services are accessible to people who are blind and vision impaired.
- We have over 150 staff who deliver our services and are supported by a team of dedicated volunteers throughout the country.

Society of Saint Vincent de Paul
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is an international voluntary Catholic Christian organisation.

Youth Activities in Ennis
Cloughleigh Youth Club: This club meets every Wednesday evening (September to May) in the Cloughleigh Community Centre.
Elmo’s Attic: This is a drop-in-centre, which caters for young people over the age of fifteen. It is open every Saturday (Closes for the Summer Months) from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. The centre is staffed by young people who are supported by a small number of adults.

Young Bands: This project operates in conjunction with Elmo’s Attic and involves supporting the formation of young bands. Local bands receive the opportunity to perform at Elmo’s on a monthly basis.
Summer Programme:
The Youth Service organise a range of summer projects which include the following:Play scheme: which caters for children aged between 9 and 11, operates over two weeks in July.
Summer Camp: caters for children age 11 to 13 and is also held in July.
Both of these programmed involve almost five hundred participants in a range of educational and entertaining activities.
Volunteer’s Programme: caters for young adults age 17 and over. The
participants in this programme receive training to work with young people on the Summer Camp and Play scheme.
