This weekend, we welcome three new Priests to Ennis, Fr. David Carroll, Fr. Ger Jones, and Fr. Brendan McGrath OFM.
Please pray for them as they once again answer God’s call to a new beginning in their Ministries.

Fr. David Carroll was born in London and from an early age lived with his family in O’Callaghan’s Mills Parish. He was ordained a Priest for Killaloe Diocese in 1992, Fr. David has served in parishes in Clare, Tipperary and Offaly and was also a Diocesan advisor to Primary Schools. Fr. David comes to us with a wealth of Pastoral experience and we hope that his time as a Co-PP of the Abbey Pastoral Area will bring blessings and bear fruit for all. Fr. David will reside in the Presbytery in Kincora Park.
Fr. Ger Jones, a native of the parish of Bridgetown was ordained a priest of the Killaloe Diocese ten years ago this August by the Bishop of Killaloe, Bishop Kieran O’Reilly. For the past ten years Fr. Ger has served in Nenagh and Portroe. He is also the co-ordinator of the Pope John Paul II awards for young people in secondary schools. Fr. Ger comes to us a Co-PP of the Abbey Pastoral area but also as our new Diocesan Secretary succeeding Fr. Ger Nash, Bishop Elect of Ferns. Fr. Ger will reside in the Presbytery in Cloughleigh.
Fr. Brendan McGrath OFM is the new Guardian of the Franciscan Friary. A native of Galway, Fr. Brendan has devoted a lot of his Franciscan Ministry to education as Rector of the Franciscan College in Gormanstown. He has also served as Guardian of the Franciscan Friary in Merchants Quay, Dublin, and in recent years was a member of the Galway Fraternity of the Abbey in Galway.
