Praying for Archbishop-elect Seamus

July 26, 2024

Parishioners gathered with Archbishop-elect Seamus in the Cathedral on Thursday 25th July to pray for him. During this time in the company of Bishop Emeritus Willie Walsh, Msgr Seamus made his profession of Faith and took his Oath. The ceremony concluded with Bishop Willie blessing the Pontificial Insignia, the Mitre,  Crozier, and the Ring.


First Friday Visits

Friday 2nd August is the First Friday of the month. The priests of the parish will visit housebound parishioners with the sacraments. If you know of any housebound parishioners who would like to receive the sacraments, please contact the Parish Office.


Ordination of Monsignor Seamus Horgan

July 24, 2024

On Saturday 27th July at 11.00am in SS Peter & Paul Cathedral, Ennis, in the presence of his family, fellow Priests, Parishioners, Cardinals, Bishops and Deacons, Monsignor Seamus Horgan from Tobartaoscain will be called to serve as a Bishop of the Church and first ever Papal Nuncio to South Sudan.

Congratulations!

On this Glorious Sunday evening, we congratulate the Clare Senior Hurlers, their Management and Supporters, and all involved in this historic day in the life of County Clare. The celebrations will continue on Monday 22nd July at Tim Smythe Park from 6.00pm when we welcome them home.


Taize Pilgrimage

The annual Youth Taize Pilgrimage from the Diocese of Killaloe took place from the 1st to 7th of July. Fr Donagh O Meara, Myriam Black, and Joanne O’Brien accompanied the young people on the weeklong pilgrimage.


Irish Church Music Association Summer School

July 4, 2024

Our Cathedral Choir was well represented at this year’s Irish Church Music Association Summer School which was held in St Patrick’s College, Maynooth. Our thanks to our Cathedral Choir Director Fiona Walsh and Cathedral Organist Eoin Flynn for organising and arranging the choir attendance.


Silver Jubilee Celebrations for Fr Barry Horan

Fr Barry and his parents Matt and Margaret from Willow Park, joined the priests of the Cathedral for lunch on Wednesday 3rd July to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of his Ordination.
