With great joy and thanksgiving to God the Franciscan Friars announce the Solemn Profession of vows of Bro. Ian Cunningham OFM which takes place this Sunday 14th September on the feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross at the 10:30am Mass in the Friary.
Ian, son of Denis and Caroline and brother of Sarah, Elm Park, Gort Road. He was educated in Ennis National School, St. Flannan’s College, St. Patrick’s College, Maynooth and the Angelicin University, Rome. He joined the Franciscan Order in their Postulancy in Ennis Friary in 2017 and completed his Novitiate in Killarney with further studies in Rome, Assisi and Cork.
This Sunday’s celebration marks Brother Ian’s lifelong commitment to live in poverty, chastity and obedience according to the rule of St. Francis of Assisi. United in faith and joy we invite you to keep Ian in your prayers as he gives his life in total service to Christ and his church as a Francis Friar on this the Feast of Exaltation of the Holy Cross.
