People from all over the Diocese gathered in the Cathedral in Ennis on Saturday 21st February to mark the first anniversary of the death of Bishop Willie Walsh and the dedication of the Bishop Willie Walsh Plaza in front of the Cathedral.
Bishop Fintan was the principal celebrant of the concelebrated Mass which included Bishop Willie’s 98 year old cousin Dom Lawrence OCSO from Our Lady of Silence Monastery, Roscrea. After Mass the Mayor of Ennis Cllr Mary Howard unveiled a memorial to Bishop Willie in the new Plaza in front of the Cathedral marking the Bishop Willie Walsh Plaza.
