A service to commemorate over 600 young Clare men and women who lost their lives in the Great War 1914 to 1918 will take place on Sunday July 14th @ 2pm at the WW1 Memorial in the Clare Peace Park opposite Glór Theatre on the occasion of the 103rd Anniversary of the Battle of the Somme. The names of 147 men from Ennis are included amongst the 600 names inscribed on the monument.
