Friday 5th May, the Feast of Blessed Ignatius Rice, was the day chosen to officially open and bless the newly built CBS Primary School in Ennis.

On arrival, guests were greeted by members of Ennis Brass Band to a musical interlude. Mr Dara Glynn, Priomh Oide, welcomed everyone and thanked all who made the dream come to fruition. Both the school Band and Choir entertained all present with wonderful traditional music. Fr David, School Chaplain, and some pupils from 5th Class, led a beautiful prayer service and Blessing before all were invited on a conducted tour of the school, where pupils and teachers welcomed guests into their classroom. Hospitality was provided by the children under the watchful guidance of School Chef, Seamus Fitzgerald.

The official opening was performed by three Christian Brothers who teach, two of whom were former Principals of the school, Bro Ben Cusack from Cork, Bro Liam de Roiste from Limerick, and Bro Donal Healy who currently teaches in the school.
